The Priapus Shot® Procedure For Male Enhancement and ED
The Priapus Shot ® (The P Shot) for male enhancement and ED is a procedure that uses PRP blood-derived growth factors extracted from the man’s own blood (autologous). The name “The Priapus Shot ®” is registered with the US Patent & Trademark Office as a “service mark” to protect patients by indicating a specific protocol.*
Understanding Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet-rich plasma is derived from a patient’s own blood. It is prepared by centrifuging a patient’s blood sample yielding a higher concentration of platelet than is normally found in the blood. The centrifuge spinning causes the blood to separate into layers that include: 1) red blood cells that are forced to the bottom of the vial, 2) White blood cells and platelets form a thin middle layer, called a buffy coat and 3) Platelet-poor plasma, or plasma with a low concentration of platelets that makes up the top layer. It is the middle layer that is extracted from the centrifuged blood that is used for the PRP injection preparation.
Plasma is the watery part of the blood that contains proteins, nutrients, glucose and other substances produced by the body. It carries red and white blood cells, platelets and other substances that must travel in the blood. Platelets secrete substances called growth factors that control cell division, stimulate tissue regeneration, and promote healing. PRP which contains a high amount of platelets is used for The Priapus Shot ® (The P Shot) due to its ability to stimulate tissue regeneration and increase blood flow. The penis is number first with topical lidocaine. Lidocaine is then injected to provide more numbing. The PRP is painlessly injected into the penis. There is no downtime and you can go immediately back to your normal activities. We can provide umbilical stem cell therapy along with PRP for more severe cases or in older patients. *

The Priapus Shot ® (The P Shot ) Protocol
The Priapus Shot ® procedure protocol involves patient selection, patient evaluation & education (including an explanation of consent), preparation of the PRP, local anesthesia, PRP injection and post-injection use of a pump on a daily basis. Other post injection steps can include: stopping smoking, CoQ10 (12), vitamin E (13), Trimix, and aerobic exercise. Protocol steps vary depending on the patient and those variations also comprise the Priapus Shot® protocol.*
The patient selection includes identifying those who may need hormonal treatment, or family counseling, or vascular surgery, as well as those who may have co-morbidities or who may be taking drugs that interfere with their health. Some patients are not treated with the Priapus Shot ® protocol because another treatment or no treatment is more appropriate.*
Taylor Medical Group evaluation protocol also includes screening for systemic cardiovascular disease, autonomic nervous system dysfunction and cell degeneration conditions that can affect overall health and wellness. Our board-certified physicians are Priapus Shot ® certified providers.

The Priapus Shot® (The P Shot) Science
An early report that PRP may be useful in appeared in a paper published in Urology in 2003 mentioning that, in animal models, using blood-derived growth factors injected successfully treated erectile dysfunction and also mentioned that such a strategy may be feasible in men— actually providing a way to correct the underlying pathology (1). In contrast, to ED drugs that do not correct the underlying pathology of decreased penile circulation.*
Another animal study in 2010 showed that transferring adipocyte-derived stem cells (ADSCs) caused endothelial cell growth (new blood flow) as well as increased nitric oxide activity in the dorsal nerve. But, the ADSCs were tagged before injection (to keep up with them) and most of the injected stem cells died! So the improvement seen was not from the maturation of the ADSCs but rather from recruitment and activation by growth factors of stem cells already in the body—indicating PRP may demonstrate a similar effect (2).*
Dr. Virag (also a pioneer of Trimix injections) published research demonstrating improvement in function, size, and correction of Peyronie’s disease with the use of PRP. His studies both published (and to be published) demonstrate a mean increase of 7 on the ED Intensity Score when PRP is injected into the plaque and corpus cavernosum. (3).*
The above studies and others not cited indicate an improvement in the health, circulation, and tissue strength with the injection of blood-derived growth factors.*

Peptide Therapy for ED
VitaPro™ is our brand name of bremelanotide, also known as PT 141. Bremelanotide, a peptide, has undergone numerous studies looking at this peptide in providing relief from sexual dysfunction, both in women (low sex drive) and men ( erectile dysfunction.) PT-141 has also shown to exhibit its effects on libido enhancement through activation of the receptors in the brain. This is different than other medications that focus on the vascular system.*

Bremelanotide PT 141 is one of the most promising peptides that can deliver the best results when it comes to improving one’s sexual life. PT 141 can be used as a solution for erectile dysfunction and male enhancement. It is safe for men with cardiovascular disease since it does not act on the vascular system. Many men choose bremelanotide for male enhancement to re-ignite their passion for engaging in sexual activity. It can help improve longer stronger erections, sexual desire, and stamina while decreasing premature ejaculations. While opting for the PT 141, individuals with mild to moderate may not need ED drugs. PT 141 can be used along with ED drugs for those who suffer from severe erectile dysfunction. It may have men who don’t respond to ED drugs to respond to these medications. Bremelanotide can be combined with testosterone hormone therapy and GainsWave ED treatment. Testosterone Hormone Replacement
Most haven’t heard of male hormone replacement therapy for men. Hormone replacement therapy for women gets far more attention than male hormone replacement. It is fairly common for older men to undergo testosterone decline. After the age of 30, men lose as much as 1% of their testosterone hormone each year. Even though the process is normal, it can lead to bothersome symptoms like ED, memory problems, fatigue, weight gain, muscle loss, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Not only does testosterone hormone replacement therapy reverse the effects of andropause (male menopause), but it can also help men lead longer lives and improve their quality of life. Fortunately, male hormone replacement therapy can reverse these effects, and help men gain by their vigor and health.
Dr. Taylor is an ED doctor that specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement for men. Testosterone hormone replacement therapy can significantly change the way a man feels about himself. As they age, more and more men are turning to testosterone hormone therapy for heightened confidence, increased energy, improved sexual desire, and more satisfactory performance.

Testosterone Pellets for Men
Testosterone pellets are derived from natural plant sources and then modified at the molecular level to perfectly match what your body naturally produces. These pure bio-identical hormones are then crystallized and compressed into tiny cylinders about the size of a grain of rice. Pellets are available as testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen.
Testosterone pellets can deliver consistent, stable levels of hormones for up to 4 months. Lidocaine is injected into the skin and then our ED doctor makes a half-inch incision in the buttocks area and inserts the pellet under the skin. There is no pain or downtime with pellet implantation. There are no fluctuations in hormone levels as commonly seen with oral, injection and topical delivery methods. This lack of fluctuation explains why pellets are more effective in treating hormone associated conditions and symptoms.*
Testosterone pellets appear to work better for hormone-related symptoms like erectile dysfunction, fatigue, decreased muscle mass, insomnia, moodiness, anxiety, memory problems, and brain fog. Bioidentical hormone pellets provide the most benefits in the treatment of hormone-related symptoms in men and women without the harmful side effects of synthetic hormones.*
